I'm a very casual, easy-going person and take a relaxed and fun approach to photographing my clients and their families. I want all of my clients, kids included, to have fun during their session. Please don't stress about your session. Enjoy it! Photo sessions shouldn't feel like a chore, they should be something you look forward.
I'll take candid photos of you as well as photos where I will ask you to stand or sit in certain areas to capture images with nice backgrounds and the best possible lighting. I will always attempt to avoid taking images with “fake” smiles (i.e. “say cheese” photos) and photos that appear unnatural and posed.
Please do not bring along extra people for to your session, with the exception of someone to help out during the session, if needed, to help provide care for your child(ren) and/or animal(s) being photographed during your session. Additional people present during a photoshoot can be a distraction for those being photographed. Also, please do not bring cameras, video cameras, or other recording equipment to your session.
Your photo session should be a fun, stress-free experience. We will have a great time and get some great photos, so please relax and enjoy your session. The more relaxed you are the more you can be yourself in your pictures which will make your portraits even better!
For sessions with children - For kids who may need extra time warming up to the camera, I'll give them extra time at no additional cost to you, if needed. While the average session is 60-90 minutes, please leave at least three hours for your session so that we have additional time if needed.
Worried about how your kids will behave during their session? Please know that I will be kind and patient with your kids and give them time to warm up to me and the camera. We will have fun and capture great photos! As a father of a toddler, I certainly know how unpredictable kids can be at times! Please let your kids know they're there to have fun and be the stars of their very own photo shoot!
For families being photographed with children, I'll take many candid shots of you doing whatever it is that you enjoy doing together. These may include piggyback rides, holding hands, lots of laughter, hugs, and kisses! I want to capture the bond between you in a natural way as much as possible. However, at times I will ask you to stand or sit in certain areas to capture images with nice backgrounds and the best lighting.
If you would like to help your children smile for the camera, that's great, but please avoid asking them to say “cheese” as this often leads to “fake” smiles. My goal is to capture beautiful, natural portraits.
